Foundation 1060 Ukraine Fund

Flag of UkraineRotary District 1060 has been successful in applying for a Disaster Response Grant from The Rotary Foundation. Unlike the District Grant we apply for each year and the Global Grants that we are involved in from time to time, this is from an entirely separate source - the Disaster Response Fund - that is built up globally and is not related to money that our local Clubs and their members have donated to Foundation in the past. The Disaster Response Grant application was justified around the support of Ukrainian refugees, so we are restricted to using it for that purpose alone.

Rotary Clubs in District 1060 can apply for funding using the application form available via the button below.

Some additional guidance is available in the rest of this article, with more detail on the form itself.

Guidelines

  1. District 1060 has received $25,000 from Rotary International under the scheme for Ukrainian Refugees. That means Clubs in D1060 may apply for up to £600 to support refugees in their area. This does NOT require a matching amount from the Club. On conclusion of the project a Final report should be send to the District team.
  2. Clubs can work together in a consortium, (meaning up to £600 for each club) where the Lead Club deals with the administration for the group.
  3. Clubs are encouraged to make contact with local non-Rotarian groups who may already have knowledge of refugees living locally.  For example the largest ex-pat organisation The Association of Ukrainians  in Great Britain has several branches in our District.
  4. Refugees helped by this Fund must comply with the Government's “Homes for Ukraine” scheme. They will have left Ukraine since 1st January 2022. These people will have the special visas.

Consortium of Clubs

  1. Rotary Clubs in an area can work together, under the leadership of one of the Clubs, to support Ukrainian refugees. The lead Club will make the Application on behalf of the group.  The Associate Clubs will be asked to sign an agreement indicating their willingness to support the lead Club in this endeavour. The value of the Disaster Response Grant available to the consortium is £600 per Club. On approval, the sum requested will be paid to the lead Club, who acts as banker to the consortium.
  2. The Application Form available via the Download button above includes the Agreement form for members of the consortium.
  3. The Lead Club would submit the Application to the District Team, estimating the amounts under the specific categories. Together the Clubs identify candidates in the area with a need, and make the awards in whatever arrangement is appropriate to the beneficiaries.
  4. Having allocated all the funds this arrangement is concluded.  A Final Report from the lead Club  should be submitted to the District team, listing all the grants made, with supporting invoices/receipts.
